I initially lost about 340 users out of my 5,000ish users because of these issues, and I had to recover some by nudging them with notifications. It was a big pain, and I felt bad that I lost this many users to small and easy fixes. So I built Rejourney to predict that before it happens. Here is how it works:First, the SDK is installed on Web JS, Swift, or React Native apps. You then help the SDK a little with a few lines of tracking important events -- such as a subscription bought, a signup completed, etc -- before you ship the app. We called these “critical conversion events”.From here, Rejourney records the user session along with the meta data you set up, and relates it to the sequence of the user journey, each touch&#x2F;scroll&#x2F;pan interaction, and rage taps. If deemed an issue, it bundles in API response times and codes, ANRS, and crash traces into the context.A heuristic then bundles all the user recordings into similarity cohorts for processing, and finds similar user journeys and outcomes in relation to the critical conversion actions that matter to you. If a trend is found that is possibly worrying, it admits the user recordings into segmentation and processing by an LLM on our back (in this case Gemini for cost and speed, but it has been tested on GPT 5.5 if you decide to self-host and set this up on your side).If the LLM views similarities in the touch sequence frame by frame, it can determine whether the cohort is likely to present a negative outlook on the critical conversion event that matters to you. Based on the replays and all the surrounding context, it outputs a .MD file with the context and the fix that would patch it (which you can copy into your coding agent). Optionally, you can attach your github repo so the .MD file includes a code fix with the detected issue.Furthermore, this occurs at the scale of thousands of user recordings daily. We have seen how this works on a medium-scale, as Rejourney has been tested with about 2.5 million user recordings from people shipping the SDK. One of our users even emailed us reporting a 30% increase in onboarding after 2 weeks of fixing non-stop issues found.We have made it soooo cost effective to run with different strategies, that our first 3 paid users made us break even on costs…and this means more compute space for cool things later :DOther considerations and criteria: Privacy was also very very important as we have to consider GDPR, after the retention period (usually 7-days) we quantize all the user recordings, anonymize all the fingerprints and aggregate them into a general dashboard (similar to Firebase’s general analytics dashboard).I’d love to hear your feedback, critics, and requests in the comments! I have 4 years of experience working with React, Next.js, and Node.js.Other than that, I have also done some work with React Native and Three.js.My last contract ended about 3 months ago, and I have been trying to find new work since then. I started with LinkedIn, then reached out through my network, HN threads, Wellfound, Reddit, and other platforms.I also tried reaching out directly to startup founders building things in areas I like, such as worldbuilding and writing-related products. But many of them are also early-stage and do not seem to have much funding or hiring capacity right now.At the moment, I can find around 6–8 jobs per week, but it is not moving forward. I am not based in the US, which is another hurdle.I am open to learning new things. I have also done some work and courses around LLMs and RAG, so I would be open to working in that area too.I’m wondering if I should continue with React&#x2F;Next.js and keep applying, or if it makes sense to switch to another stack.Has anyone been in a similar situation? So I started this project because my wife wanted a way to check if her word dice game rolls were solvable to avoid wasting time on a roll. I started a building a tool that accepts a picture of the dice and quickly answers if the roll can be solved. Well, that quickly devolved into building a highly-optimized solver efficient enough to run in the browser on WebGPU. Once the solver worked, it turned into an excuse to finally explore multiplayer game dev, which I did with PartyKit and some Cloudflare primitives (durable objects, D1, workers). During this process it all became an actual game I shipped.Where the games features ended up:- A &quot;daily&quot; mode where everyone gets the same 12 tiles each day, and the scoring goal randomly changes (most words, longest word, most crossings, rarest words) tracking streaks and leaderboards.- Real-time multiplayer- 1v1, or drop an invite link into a group chat and up to 10 people race the same roll live, one Durable Object per match room. If no other human&#x27;s are queueing to play, you can play bots instead of waiting. There&#x27;s also Arena, where up to 10 players take a shared roll for a spot on a 24h heat leaderboard.- No ads, no IAP, no sign-up. Guest play is anonymous auth that upgrades in place if you choose to sign in.Things I learned:- Powered by one shared ts core (engine, scoring, word table, match protocol) with a react PWA and react-native for ios&#x2F;android. The core makes it so the rules can&#x27;t drift between web and native and so prelim scoring and offline play can be client-side while all ranked and multiplayer scoring is server-side- Each match room is one Durable Object and since a DO is single-threaded and globally a single-nstance, it&#x27;s the authoritative in-memory source of truth for the match. that way no external lock or DB round-trip need on the hot path. everyone in the room (up to 10 players) has a websocket to that one object. when players make moves, the DO broadcasts progress delta (tiles used, word count, %) to the other players and streams the board itself for a &quot;watch everyone&quot; view. there are also emojireactions on the same channel- For timed modes there&#x27;s a server side match clock. so the DO stamps a start time plus duration when the match goes live, and clients render the countdown from that deadline instead of using a local timer (tried that at first and there was drift). end of match board lock-in fires from a DO timer alarm at 0:00 instead of a client message. I learned the hard way not to let match finalization depend on a client being online or on time so now there&#x27;s a flush window for in-flight board submissions.- One real gotcha was the DO lifecycle. learned that Durable Objects can be evicted seemingly randomly and recycled mid-match, so the room has to rehydrate its state instead of assuming it stayed resident, and the streamed game boards needed to survive that. Hi HN,My name is Matt and I&#x27;ve been working on a project called Manger, a mobile app used for livestock management. As a child, I grew up in a rural area with chickens, cows and other livestock around me. At the same time, I&#x27;ve always been passionate about technology. About a year ago, I launched Manger on iOS, and, more recently on Android. Just this past week, I launched RFID tags for poultry, called &quot;eFlock Smart Poultry Tags&quot; along with a companion scanner. The &quot;killer feature&quot; of the app is long-range scanning support (up to 15 feet), which can be used to count and identify animals. I imagine it has some other &quot;current&quot; uses, for example, finding young chickens that have been spooked and hiding in grass.The app is written with React Native and uses PouchDB, backed by SQLite. What makes this really neat is that you can sync your data across devices via a (local!) CouchDB server. At my homestead, my wife typically takes care of chickens and records how many eggs we&#x27;ve collected each day. On the other hand, I take care of rabbits and record their weight, as we keep them for meat. All of the data syncs between our iPhones. I currently have a Raspberry Pi setup running CouchDB and it has been working well. The goal for the app is to always be offline-first, with sync and backup functionality backed by on-premises hardware. This is a &quot;beta&quot; feature, as it&#x27;s currently undocumented and I don&#x27;t sell the hardware for that (yet).The eFlock Smart Poultry Tags are passive UHF. It took me quite a bit of time to find a chip &#x2F; antenna combination that has &quot;long rage&quot;, while being &quot;small&quot;. It&#x27;s a trade off. The tags are 45.5mm x 19.5mm x 1mm and are perfectly fine for adult chickens. I think they are fine on young chickens as well - about 8 weeks when they become fully feathered. Tags are 3D-printed with TPU, which makes them flexible and durable. At the time of this writing, nine months into my test on 32 chickens, only one so far has been damaged.The scanner, eScan H103 SE, is sourced from a manufacturer in China. Similar situation as with the tags, it took me quite a while to find something that is &quot;long range&quot; while staying relatively affordable. Depending on make &#x2F; model, livestock scanners (LF&#x2F;HF) range from a few hundred to upwards of a thousand dollars, so the scanner is definitely on the cheaper end of this spectrum.My next upcoming feature are functions for number-type properties. For example, get the totals, average, maximum or minimum number of eggs collected within some specific time frame. Along those same lines, (local!)
