Redora 0.3.1 – Redis application toolkit for NestJS

Hi HN,I'm Yash, the founder of TabX - a sidepanel extension for Chrome that recalls Chrome tabs by meaning, auto-groups your tabs by intent, offers an AI web search that fetches an ordered list of results for you to act on (while leaving out SEO farms) and much more.I love using the Chrome web browser but could not stand the slow rollout of native AI features within it. "Ask Gemini" can answer a question about the page in front of you but retains no context on the 10 pages leading up to the current page. It is largely reactive rather than proactive. Browsers such as Dia, and Comet have a taken a stab at this but haven't enjoyed strong traction due to high browser switching costs and inertia among Chrome users.I thought, why not augment Chrome, which we love and use every day, with productivity features that make browsing more intuitive and assistive? And hence, TabX!If you're a visual learner, then you can skip the features listing below and watch a how-to video instead - https://youtu.be/HnjxmOHmVik?si=IQupYhxg9gN8gwHdWhat it does:recall a page by meaning ("That article on Posthog setup I was reading", "The video on Hyrox training from last week"). It retrieves the matching pages (by title and content) and once you click a result, it switches to that page and highlights the passage that matches your intent@mention a tab or a tab group to ask any question and it grounds answers in the pages you've actually read while citing those as well.It infers your browsing intent (say, "Meal Prep Research", "Hyrox training routines") based on your browsing pattern across tabs and groups similar tabs into color coded stacks on the Chrome Tab strip automaticallynext step suggestions - based on what you're working on presently, it automatically points you to the next most relevant/useful tab to achieve your browsing goaltimelines - all your page visits get grouped into research sessions which you can 1 click to restore and the tabs open up in the precise order that you browsed themonline mode - a web search mode that retrieves 3-5 ranked link results with a short results summary. It filters out SEO farms automaticallyHow it works:The stack is a Manifest v3 side panel that sends each page's text to a Nest JS backend where it gets embedded into Postgres with pgVector. Recall combines vector and full-text search, and summaries, tab grouping and next-step suggestions come from LLMs routed through OpenRouter.It's Pro mode is free to try for a week - simply sign up with a one time password (OTP) sent to your email. If you'd rather try the extension directly, here's the install link - https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/tabx-chromes-ai-sid...Critical feedback is most welcome. I intend to work on this project long term, and I am open to potential pivots. Feel free to drop ideas or suggestions in the comments.

Most recently a biodiversity research platform at Helmholtz (UFZ):- Developers: consolidated the apps and their git-subtree'd shared packages into one monorepo, built CI/CD from scratch, automated releases and hotfixes, made backend tests 6-10x faster- Operations: Helm and ArgoCD across dev, stage and prod; logs used to hide inside pods, now it's OpenTelemetry/SigNoz with alerts as code- Users: shipped a legacy data import that had been overdue for two years (1.94M volunteer field observations back to 1991), and brought a plant-traits database back online after years offline, rebuilt from the bytecode of its old Java app and verified record by recordBefore that: Head of Backend at a location-based sustainability startup, led 7 engineers. Instead of rewriting the old-school Python API I inherited, I wrapped it in a TypeScript GraphQL layer that all native and web clients use, and took the platform to AWS/EKS. ## Description

Nest is a framework for building efficient, scalable [Node.js](http://nodejs.org) server-side applications. It uses modern JavaScript, is built with [TypeScript](http://www.typescriptlang.org) preserves compatibility with pure JavaScript and combines elements of OOP (Object Oriented Programming), FP (Functional Programming), and FRP (Functional Reactive Programming).

Under the hood, Nest makes use of [Express](https://expressjs.com/), but also, provides compatibility with a wide range of other libraries, like e.g. [Fastify](https://github.com/fastify/fastify), allowing for easy use of the myriad third-party plugins which are available.

## Installation

```js
$ npm install
```

## Getting Started

Setting up a new project is quite simple. With npm installed, you can create a new Nest project with the following commands in your OS terminal:

```js
$ npm i -g @nestjs/cli
$ nest new project-name
```

## Running the app

```js
# development
$ npm run start
# watch mode
$ npm run start:dev
# production mode
$ npm run start:prod
```

## Test

```js
# unit tests
$ npm run test
# e2e tests
$ npm run test:e2e
# test coverage
$ npm run test:cov
```

## Support

Nest is an MIT-licensed open source project. It can grow thanks to the sponsors and support by the amazing backers. If you'd like to join them, please [read more here](https://opencollective.com/nest).
