I learned a lot about the inner workings of web frameworks in the process. Good test coverage and an extensive test matrix were really important to not break people’s production APIs with buggy middleware.Apitally’s backend is built in Python and runs on a small Kubernetes cluster on DigitalOcean. It uses PostgreSQL and ClickHouse to store data and NATS JetStream as a message queue. I chose NATS for being lightweight and its exactly-once processing capabilities. I’m also impressed by ClickHouse’s performance given the low hardware specs of my server (4 vCPUs, 8 GB RAM).Apitally is free to use for small hobby projects (with limitations), and I offer two paid tiers for $39 and $119 (USD) per month. I’m not sure why you’re so obsessed with this. You can do the same thing with any validation library in nodejs. Your exact example is possible by integrating any validation library of your choosing into a nest js route pipe. In particular primitive type validation is built into nestjs anywayThe fact that it’s built in is neat but not really important. Most people are not making thousands of toy apps. If the necessary they will integrate and move on.There are more compelling reasons to use .net than this.

One year after switching from Java to Go

&gt; My personal problem with JavaScript is that things keep changing too much.JavaScript itself barely changes - it&#x27;s the flavor-of-the-month frontend frameworks that do. What language feature is commonly used now that wasn&#x27;t 5 years ago? Some nicer builtin Array methods I guess?There&#x27;s a lot of dislike on here for Typescript as a backend language. But the difference with the frontend world with its dozen everchanging frameworks is striking. On the backend side, most projects don&#x27;t even use a framework, and for those that do basically all of them use the same one (NestJS). And the rate of breaking changes on that has been much lower than something like React.Of course, many will say that this lack of industry-wide adopted framework in itself is what they dislike about it. But it&#x27;s hard to settle on that golden mean inbetween both extremes when it&#x27;s the most popular language in the world (in terms of &quot;Yearly new LOC going into production&quot;). Python makes for a good contrast, with a dozen popularish backend frameworks. Not sure if that&#x27;s really a better situation to be in, there&#x27;s pros and cons.

## Description

Nest is a framework for building efficient, scalable [Node.js](http://nodejs.org) server-side applications. It uses modern JavaScript, is built with  [TypeScript](http://www.typescriptlang.org) preserves compatibility with pure JavaScript and combines elements of OOP (Object Oriented Programming), FP (Functional Programming), and FRP (Functional Reactive Programming).

Under the hood, Nest makes use of [Express](https://expressjs.com/), but also, provides compatibility with a wide range of other libraries, like e.g. [Fastify](https://github.com/fastify/fastify), allowing for easy use of the myriad third-party plugins which are available.

## Installation

```js
$ npm install
```

## Getting Started

Setting up a new project is quite simple. With npm installed, you can create a new Nest project with the following commands in your OS terminal:

```

## Running the app
