Hi HN,Creator here of x402-hosting. The idea is that vibe-coded projects need hosting too! Some friends of mine asked how to convert a .tsx file into a link, and that got me thinking. Wouldn’t it be great if you could just ask the agent itself to deploy the project for x amount of months and return a live URL...Maybe agents will start using this, maybe not. At least it was a great excuse to play around with the x402 payment-required protocol.

Hi HN, I'm a nuclear engineer and tech entrepreneur. After working for 3 years in the National Atomic Energy Commision (CNEA) in HPC software for nuclear simulations, I co-founded ratherlabs.com, a software company providing blockchain solutions for startups. Rather Labs business reached ~6 million usd in annual revenue in 2024; now demand is decreasing as our niche clients are using AI to launch their MVPs.Now I'm joining my scientific background with my entrepreneurial inclinations to think of problems related to the energy industry. Nuclear is experiencing a renaissance now (it was in a dark age when I was studying after the Fukushima event) so I think this is the right moment for me to jump again into the field.Reactor atlas is an interactive nuclear reactor map and an intelligence layer on top of it. The basic layer indexes:

- power reactors
- research reactors
- fuel facilities

with their history and projection, by country. The project is solving a fragmented information ecosystem, where operational and commercial data is hard to conciliate. Also, I'm monitoring nuclear news associated with each of the facilities, political declarations that may affect the nuclear landscape and geo-phisical news (like earthquakes) that could affect operation. On top of the operational + news layer, I'm creating an intelligence layer that will help institutions of different types make faster decisions by subscribing to very specific alerts.As an engineer, I used to code in fortran and c++ when I was working at CNEA, and later I participated in the first Rather Labs projects architecting complex async systems, mostly using MERN stack. I'm no longer coding anymore. I'm focused on designing robust systems with AI agents.I mainly used Claude Fable 5.1 to develop reactoratlas.com, deploying on vercel and using mostly nextjs, threejs, postgreSQL and some cron jobs to query and update data. I miss coding as in the old days, but I haven't code a single line in this project. And I strongly believe we humans shouldn't code anymore: our responsibility is now on designing and supervising AI systems.Thanks for your attention!

I searched for one and was shocked how expensive they were. I mean they are just using apis right. I didnt want to pay $50/month just to post on multiple accounts... Figured it couldnt be so hard and build one my self. I use a third party provider for posting but might switch to my own integration with the apis. Build with Next Js and Supabase.

Hey HN!We all know that most public evals are saturated and are hard to trust. What matters is whether a model reliably works in your codebase in your actual day-to-day-work.To solve this, we built self-bench (https://github.com/mupt-ai/self-bench), an open-source repo that automatically turns your private, completed PRs into held-out coding-agent evals. It's fully open-source and you can run it on your own machine or on Modal sandboxes!With one CLI command, we give you a validated Harbor dataset based on real changes from your repository.
We've used self-bench to build evals for popular OSS projects, including Next.js (https://huggingface.co/datasets/dari-ai/nextjs-selfbench) and Vite (https://huggingface.co/datasets/dari-ai/vite-selfbench).With self-bench, we want to make it easy to compare open-weight models, frontier models, and routers on performance, speed and cost.Try out the repo or book a call if you want to chat through using it within your repos! https://calendly.com/avyay-dari/30min

Ask HN: Who wants to be hired? (October 2026)

Prophet Town LLC | Various Software Engineering Roles | US – Remote and Hybrid | English fluency required | Full-time | $140K-$264K annual total comp (multiple)We are a people-first, boutique tech agency creating on-demand teams and software solutions for long-standing clients. These clients trust us to practice engineering excellence as though we were members of their own staff. Our leadership team is ex-Fortune 100 with software engineering backgrounds: we’re still coding. Notable recent projects include a gigantic ERP migration for Anduril, and working with Surge Labs to help develop some of the frontier LLM models from the big guys themselves (yes, seriously). This is a remote-first agency, but some projects involve onsite work.I’m the founder and CEO, and I’m trying to do what I call “enlightened business”. I take responsibility for both staff and clients, and I look for people who approach their work with a similar sense of ownership.We continue the hiring push we were running last month too: our current work would especially benefit from from ai-forward senior engineering expertise that can design RL benchmarks, red-team model outputs, and create rubrics to evaluate and enhance the agentic coding capabilities of various frontier models. We received 216 applications in our August posting, and issued offers to approximately 10 (still following up with a few).Applicants must meet a high bar - I intend to have a personal relationship with every hire. In return you’ll get:

* Flexibility and a low-bureaucracy environment

* Clients that won’t treat the vendor like “the B Team”

* The chance to act as a code architect, not just implement tickets

* Exposure to a wide variety of industries and modern challenges

* Me as your personal champion and advocate

Feel free to submit, even if you already did in the past.Current roles available:Back-end, Front-end, and Full-Stack Software Engineers, Tiers 3 and 4 (Typescript/Javascript, React, NextJS; Ruby on Rails; Python; DevOps, and third-party API integrations)Tier 3 roles are typically 5-10 years experience with $140-$180K total comp. Tier 4 roles are 11-20 years experience, $210-$264K total comp. OpenAPI does a similar job and is great if you're using different languages, but I disagree it's not much of a value add. You can send way more types between client/server in e.g. NextJS without thinking about it like lists, dates, promises, etc. OpenAPI can't do that, and OpenAPI also needs a codegen step and then you have to work with janky generated clients.

SvelteKit 3

The main benefit is that it's very easy to have type safety and consistency between your client and your server. NextJS and the like make it feel almost like you're just calling a native JS function in your client, but it's actually doing lots of magic to make that work. The end result is your client is never out of date with your backend API, everything is type safe, you get full type hinting, and of course all of that helps LLMs write better code for you as well.

I'm a little out of touch with these technologies (sveltekit, nextjs), but is there any advantage to using the same technology for both frontend and backend development beyond the rise of full-stack developers?What about using React/Svelte for the frontend and a separate backend in Node.js or another stack? Is there any real advantage to having a single monolithic codebase for everything?

This is why I switched to Astro/React in 2024. I wonder where I would be now if I had stuck things out. Svelte is very fast and elegant. I found that I can use Astro for anything I thought I might need NextJS for though.

# This is a NextJS
NextJS is a **framework for ReactJS**.

Wait a second ... a "framework" for React? Isn't React itself already a framework for JavaScript?

Well ... first of all, React is a "library" for JavaScript. That seems to be important for some people.

Not for me, but still, there is a valid point: React already is a framework / library for JavaScript. So it's already an extra layer on top of JS.

## Getting Started

Create Next App:

```bash
npx create-next-app
# or
yarn create next-app
```

First, run the development server:

```bash
npm run dev
# or
yarn dev
```

Open [http://localhost:3000](http://localhost:3000) with your browser to see the result.

You can start editing the page by modifying `pages/index.js`. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.

[API routes](https://nextjs.org/docs/api-routes/introduction) can be accessed on [http://localhost:3000/api/hello](http://localhost:3000/api/hello). This endpoint can be edited in `pages/api/hello.js`.

The `pages/api` directory is mapped to `/api/*`. Files in this directory are treated as [API routes](https://nextjs.org/docs/api-routes/introduction) instead of React pages.

## Why would we then need NextJS?

Because NextJS makes building React apps easier - especially React apps that should have server-side rendering (though it does way more than just take care of that).

In this article, we'll dive into the core concepts and features NextJS has to offer:

- File-based Routing
- Built-in Page Pre-rendering
- Rich Data Fetching Capabilities
- Image Optimization
- Much More

## File-based Routing
